In September 2025, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, in collaboration with the Government of Portugal, hosted a regional dialogue on Artificial Intelligence in Health in Porto. The event brought together policymakers, health experts, and international organisations to advance the safe, ethical, and effective use of AI in health systems across Europe.
Professor Lampros Stergioulas participated as an invited speaker, contributing to discussions on health innovation, governance, and responsible AI adoption. The dialogue focused on aligning technological innovation with public health priorities, strengthening international cooperation, and ensuring that AI solutions in healthcare remain people-centred, transparent, and equitable.
