In 2025, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, in collaboration with national partners, organised a high-level dialogue on Artificial Intelligence in Health to advance discussions on safe, ethical, and effective AI adoption in European health systems. The dialogue brought together policymakers, WHO experts, and international health and AI specialists to address emerging challenges and opportunities in digital health innovation.
Professor Lampros Stergioulas participated as an invited speaker, contributing to discussions on AI governance, ethical frameworks, and the responsible integration of AI technologies in health systems. The event highlighted the importance of international cooperation, evidence-based policy, and human-centred AI approaches to ensure that AI-driven health innovations deliver societal value while safeguarding trust, equity, and public health outcomes.
